Global Prayer Week 2025
WELCOME
It is such a privilege to unite together in prayer with the Global Church to declare God's greatness over every part of the world!
Over 90 communities across Australia, and over 1000 across the world in over 100 countries have registered Prayer Rooms and prayer spaces - to gather to seek God's presence.
As we prepare to begin this week of prayer can we invite you to join us in this prayer.
Father of the nations, we join with our global family, lifting voices and hearts to you, the Creator, who reigns overall. Please hear our prayer.
Lord show us your glory.
Come quickly, shine brightly, illuminate every part of the world. May your glory be revealed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and your son, Jesus, exalted across the Earth.
Lord, show us your glory.
Strengthen your church, may it be a light in the darkness. Where there is weakness, give strength. Where there is fear, grant courage. And where there is despair, ignite hope.
Lord, show us your glory.
We ask for new life to spring fourth, for joy to overflow and your kingdom to come. Help us to find our voice and empower our witness that we might proclaim your truth.
Lord, show us your glory.
Shine your light into the darkness, transform our nations, heal our land, and bring peace to all. Jesus, reveal yourself as the way, the truth, and the life throughout your beautiful planet.
Lord show us your glory.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day One
A Call to Prayer for the Nations
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Today we are praying for God to heal our world and our nation:
Read through Luke 4:14-19, the scripture describing what the Holy Spirit anointed Jesus to do, pausing on phrases that stand out to you.
Choose Australia, or a country God has placed on your heart. Specifically ask the Holy Spirit to bring places, countries and communities to mind to pray for.
Pray that this nation would experience the good news, the freedom, the recovery, the healing, the forgiveness and the favour that the passage in Luke 4 describes.
You might like to use the map above to help you as you pray.
Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Two
The Power of Prayer
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
James 5:16
Today we are focusing on praying daring, bold, big prayers, because the power of prayer is not in us, but in God – who hears and answers prayers in His will, with His grace and in His timing:
Kneel in humility, confessing sins, confessing that you need God’s help.
Spend some time thanking God for prayers he has answered for you, for our community and for our nation in the past
Dare to pray the big prayers at the foot of the cross that you haven’t prayed before, or you stopped praying because you didn’t think they’d be answered.
Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Three
A Call to Persistence
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
Today’s focus is about persistently praying for something again and again until God moves and change happens. There is a call for us to pray and not lose heart!
Pray for something in your own life that you have been asking God to change for a long time:
The salvation of family members
For prodigals to return
Healing in your body and emotions
Restoration in relationships
Pray into challenges facing our community, that may include:
Those struggling with food poverty
The mentally or physically ill
Those dealing with addiction
The homeless community
Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Four
The Body of Christ
And Jesus said: “all authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21
Today’s focus is to pray for the body of Christ, His Church:
Our own Church community at Vision
Local Churches and ministries in the Canberra Region
The Church in Australia
The global Church
The Persecuted Church
Pray for a fresh call to humility and repentance, for the reflection of Jesus to be seen in us and the way we love one another, for unity, for fresh fire, and renewed vision and purpose.
